Position Overview:
The Hasbrouck Heights School District seeks a dynamic and organized educational leader to serve as Vice Principal for Hasbrouck Heights Middle School.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serves as HHMS Principal in their absence
- Acts as primary disciplinarian for the Middle School
- Conducts teacher and staff evaluations
- Oversees student attendance/ truancy at the building-level
- Supports the Principal in the implementation of district goals
- Oversees and coordinates with the Main Office on substitute teacher coverages, aides, and office personnel
- Works with teachers and staff on classroom management best practices to promote positive behavior and character development
- Works with the SRO/SAC and the counseling department in implementing programs/ community outreach related to character development & growth
- Updates and coordinates annual changes to the Student/Parent Handbook, which outlines policies and procedures for the Middle School
- Member of the I&RS Team
- Assists Testing Coordinator and Building Principal with the training and implementation of state and benchmark testing
- Oversees and facilitates the HIB process at the building-level
- Works with the School Safety Specialist in implementing best practices related to safety and security
- Communicates and collaborates regularly with parents, guardians, community members, and parent organizations (APTO)
- Performs other such duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Principal Certificate
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in education
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Salary: Starting Salary $126,901.42 (commensurate with experience)
Terms of Employment:
12-month position. Salary and benefits in accordance with Hasbrouck Heights Administrators Association CBA and experience.
