We are seeking positive, energetic, and dedicated individuals to serve as Middle School Volleyball Coaches. Coaches will create a supportive team environment that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence-building, and personal growth for student-athletes.

The ideal candidate is an encouraging adult mentor who is passionate about working with middle school students and helping athletes develop both on and off the court.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and develop volleyball fundamentals including:

  • Passing

  • Serving

  • Setting

  • Hitting

  • Defensive positioning

  • Court communication

  • Introduce and implement team systems, including a 6-2 rotation.

  • Build players' confidence through positive feedback, encouragement, and skill progression.

  • Foster teamwork, leadership, accountability, and good sportsmanship.

  • Plan and lead organized, engaging, and age-appropriate practices.

  • Provide instruction that supports athletes of varying skill levels.

  • Serve as a positive role model and trusted adult mentor for student-athletes.

  • Maintain effective communication with players, families, coaching staff, and school personnel.

  • Supervise athletes during practices, matches, and team activities while ensuring a safe and respectful environment.

  • Promote a fun, inclusive, and competitive team culture focused on growth and effort.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals and game strategies, including experience with a 6-2 offensive system preferred.
  • Ability to effectively teach and motivate middle school student-athletes.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to building positive relationships with students.
  • Prior coaching or playing experience preferred but not required.
  • Must meet all school/district coaching and background check requirements.
