What Youll Do
### Core Duties and Responsibilities
- MYP Design Teacher: The MYP Design teacher may also teach one unit of Project Lead the Way (PLTW) throughout the year.
- Classroom Instruction: The teacher will be responsible for classroom instruction in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) Design and a PLTW module-specific module.
- Planning and Execution: The teacher will plan and execute the MYP Design course and plan, carry out, evaluate, and supervise instructional activities for all classes.
### Day in the Life Overview
- Maintain a model classroom environment supportive of student inquiry and aligned with the Middle Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).
- Establish an educational environment with an international focus that provides opportunities for students to develop leadership skills and positive self-images.
- Work with other teachers in the CFI Magnet Program to plan themes and projects for interdisciplinary instruction aligned with IB.
- Actively encourage parent involvement in the educational process.
- Actively seek and use community resources to enhance the instructional program.
- Willingly participate in innovative instructional and assessment activities, including the design and preparation of proposals and reports.
- Participate in IB training, including traveling to regional sites.
- Participate in all staff and curriculum development workshops and professional reading groups, sometimes held during the summer or outside of the regular instructional day.
