We are hiring for a Middleware System Administrator / DevOps Engineer opportunity.

Role: Middleware System Administrator / DevOps Engineer

Location: Remote with low monthly travel/colocation to Des Moines, IA

Position: 1

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Middleware System Administrator / DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in JBoss EAP administration and Azure DevOps. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience managing enterprise JBoss environments, clustering and failover, application deployments, CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, patching, monitoring, and production support.

The candidate will work closely with infrastructure, application, security, networking, and DevOps teams to maintain highly available middleware platforms and support automated application deployment and release processes.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands on experience administering JBoss EAP 7/8.x
• Experience with JBoss standalone and domain mode administration
• Experience with JBoss clustering, failover, and high availability
• Strong experience with Azure DevOps administration and CI/CD
• Experience with Azure Repos, branching strategies, pull requests, and branch policies
• Experience with Azure Pipelines for build, test, deployment, and release automation
• Experience with Azure Artifacts and artifact version management
• Experience with environment approvals, gates, and release controls
• Experience with mod_jk and mod_cluster configurations
• Experience deploying enterprise applications using JBoss GUI and CLI tools
• Strong knowledge of datasource, JVM, and server configuration management
• Experience supporting WAR and EAR application deployments
• Strong troubleshooting and production support experience
• Experience with JBoss patching, upgrades, and configuration management
• Experience with JVM performance tuning and analysis of thread dumps, heap dumps, and server logs
• Strong Shell/Bash scripting experience
• Experience with middleware monitoring, health checks, and incident management
• Strong understanding of enterprise application deployment and release processes

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting large scale enterprise middleware environments
• Experience with automated infrastructure and middleware administration
• Experience with capacity planning and scalability initiatives
• Experience coordinating vendor support and product related issues
• Experience with enterprise change management and release governance
• Experience developing operational runbooks and technical knowledge bases
• Experience working with distributed infrastructure, security, networking, and application support teams
• Experience providing technical mentoring and knowledge transfer
• Experience supporting high availability and disaster recovery initiatives

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
