Our client is a major biopharmaceutical company with multiple commercialized pharmaceuticals and biologics commercialized globally. In the United States, the business has an FDA approved antibiotic expected to launch by Q1 2027. This lead antibiotic has received favorable data with an expectation to take a strong market share. The US antibiotics business has a robust pipeline of additional assets expected to launch in the near future.

Job Description

Recruit, onboard, and lead a high performing regional team of Key Account Managers. Develop and execute strategic business plans that support successful product commercialization and regional sales objectives. Drive accountability and cultivate a culture focused on results, compliance, and continuous improvement. Partner with internal stakeholders across marketing, medical affairs, operations, training, and market access functions. Build and strengthen relationships with KOLs, centers of excellence, healthcare providers, and decision-makers. Maintain deep expertise in infectious disease treatment landscapes, competitive dynamics, and healthcare market trends. Analyze sales performance, market opportunities, and business metrics to optimize resource allocation and execution strategies. Lead regional meetings and collaborate with senior leadership on business planning and execution. Ensure all activities are conducted in full alignment with applicable legal, regulatory, and company standards. Serve as a trusted resource for product, clinical, and scientific discussions relevant to the therapeutic area.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Midwest Regional Sales Director should have: Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales leadership experience. Direct experience with hospital-based antibiotics required. Flexible for location, with a preference for Chicago, Indianapolis, or St. Louis. Ability to travel up to 60% within the region. Demonstrated success leading product launches, ideally within emerging, growth-stage, or speciality pharmaceutical organizations. Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain top-performing commercial talent. Proficiency in analyzing sales data and creating actionable strategies. Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management capabilities. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical concepts to healthcare professionals and stakeholders. Strong analytical and strategic planning skills with the ability to identify business opportunities and risks.
