Midwife - Magee Womens Hospital

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a Full-Time Certified Nurse Midwife to help support Magee Womens Hospital.

Location: Primary office location is Magee Womens Hospital. Travel may include visits to outlying office locations, including Bethel Park, Mt. Oliver, and Cranberry, a few times per month
Position Specifics: Full scope CNM position including a mix of office/outpatient visits and call shifts (days, nights, and weekends). The Midwives' office at Magee is a small, dedicated practice of 12 Certified Nurse Midwives who care for a large and continually growing, diverse patient population. Our midwives provide a wide range of services, including prenatal care, gynecologic care, family planning, and annual wellness exams. Prior midwifery experience is preferred. Women's Health nursing and/or Labor & Delivery experience is strongly preferred. Approximately 20% of time will be dedicated to call responsibilities.

Staff Level:
The Staff CNM is a Certified Registered Nurse Midwife and a member of the care delivery team. The CNM, Staff is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The CNM, Staff has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The CNM, Staff manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members. The role of the CNM, Staff encompasses the beginnings of leadership, partnership, collaboration and supervision. The CNM, Staff establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The Staff APP begins to demonstrate a commitment to the community and to their healthcare profession. The successful candidate will be placed according to years and months of experience for employment purposes.

This position is dependent upon successful attainment and maintenance of hospital privileges, if applicable to the Business Unit practice.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Must be eligible for licensure. CPR certification required. National certification, eligible for licensure by Pennsylvania board of nursing, eligible for certification as a CNM by Pennsylvania state board of nursing PR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
