MIG/Flux-Core Welder – Automotive Manufacturing
Harvey, IL | $21–$23/hr | 2nd shift, Mon–Fri, 3:30 pm–12:00 am (train first on 1st shift, 7:00 am–3:30 pm)
Is this you?
- Do you read customer drawings and immediately see the welding plan?
- Can you switch between flat, horizontal, and vertical positions using GMAW, FCAW, and/or SAW without missing a beat?
- Are hand tools, gauges, and fabrication equipment part of your everyday toolkit?
- Do you take pride in inspecting your own work and dialing in settings to keep quality high?
- When production or engineering hits a snag, are you the one who helps troubleshoot the weld approach?
What you’ll tackle
- Turn prints into precise weldments for a high‑growth automotive operation
- Run MIG (GMAW), Flux‑Core (FCAW), and Sub‑Arc (SAW) as required
- Prep, fit, and finish using measuring tools, grinders, and air‑arc (carbon‑arc)
- Maintain standards by catching basic weld defects before they become rework
- Work independently while staying aligned to safety rules and production goals
Path to hire
This is a contract‑to‑hire opportunity. Upon full‑time conversion, you’ll be part of the union workforce.
