MIG Welder - 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shift

Pay: Starting at $17.00/hr or higher based on experience

Available Shifts
1st Shift: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM
2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 5:30 PM-4:00 AM
3rd Shift: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 AM-6:00 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced MIG Welders to join a growing manufacturing team in Gastonia, NC. This role is responsible for welding, fabricating, fitting, and assembling metal components while maintaining quality, production, and safety standards.
Candidates must have prior MIG welding experience and be able to read blueprints and AWS welding symbols.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on metal components and assemblies
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and AWS welding symbols
- Set up and operate welding equipment according to job requirements
- Fit, position, and prepare materials for welding
- Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy
- Use measuring and inspection tools including tape measures, squares, gauges, and calipers
- Complete work according to production schedules and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Communicate material, quality, or equipment concerns to supervisors
Qualifications
Required
- Previous MIG welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Ability to interpret AWS welding symbols
- Experience using measuring and inspection tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned shift
Preferred
- Production welding experience
- Welding school, vocational training, or AWS certification
- Experience with weld inspection and quality standards
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
- Work safely with welding equipment, hand tools, and metal components
Work Environment
This position is performed in an active manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to:
- Welding fumes and smoke
- Sparks and hot metal
- Manufacturing noise
- Industrial equipment and moving machinery
- Dust and changing temperatures
This facility is not climate-controlled and does not have air conditioning. Candidates must be comfortable working in varying temperatures throughout their shift.
