Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable MIG Welder to join a fast-paced manufacturing and fabrication team in Tulsa. This position is responsible for performing MIG welding on metal components and assemblies while maintaining established production, quality, and safety standards.
The ideal candidate has previous MIG welding experience, takes pride in producing consistent quality work, and is comfortable welding in multiple positions. All candidates must successfully complete a hands-on weld test before placement.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous MIG welding experience preferred
Ability to perform quality MIG welds in multiple positions
Ability to successfully complete the required hands-on weld test
Ability to read and follow work instructions and production requirements
Strong attention to detail and commitment to weld quality
Ability to maintain production pace without sacrificing workmanship
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on metal components and assemblies
Set up and safely operate MIG welding equipment
Follow work instructions and established production requirements
Perform flat, downhill, and uphill welds as required
Inspect completed welds for quality, consistency, and accuracy
Identify and report welding defects or quality concerns
Maintain established production and quality standards throughout the shift
Safely operate grinders and related fabrication tools as required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required PPE
Work with supervisors and production personnel to meet daily production goals
Perform additional welding and fabrication duties as assigned
Weld Test Requirements
All candidates must successfully complete a hands-on MIG weld test consisting of:
Flat Weld
Downhill Weld
Uphill Weld
Completed welds must meet required quality and inspection standards
Preferred Qualifications
Previous production MIG welding experience
Manufacturing or metal fabrication experience
Experience welding in flat, uphill, and downhill positions
Experience using grinders and other fabrication equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude
Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, and repetitive physical activity
Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around metal components, welding equipment, grinders, heat, and sparks
Ability to perform physically active welding and production work throughout the shift
