Description for MIG Welder:
- Perform high-quality structural MIG welding (GMAW) on heavy steel beams, plates, and columns safely.
- Read, analyze, and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical welding symbols fluently.
- Position, clamp, fit, and tack-weld large steel sub-assemblies cleanly to maintain square tolerances.
- Audit weld configurations continuously to guarantee total penetration and eliminate porosity defects.
- Operate commercial shop grinders, plasma cutters, and magnetic drills to prep heavy joints for welding.
- Execute routine pre-shift logs, use overhead rigging cranes safely, and follow all facility rules.
Details for MIG Welder:
- Pay Range: $22.00 – $25.00 / hour (DOE).
- Schedule: Monday – Friday | Day Shift (7:00am - 3:30pm) OR Swing Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am).
- Location: Cowlitz County layout.
- Position Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire.
Requirements for MIG Welder:
- Verifiable background working as a commercial structural MIG welder or custom steel fabricator required.
- Strictly required: This role is for experienced pros—candidates fresh out of school or green will not be considered.
- Highly Preferred: Current or recently active WABO (Washington Association of Building Officials) Certification.
- Demonstrated capability to read technical prints, solve layout math, and work with zero structural supervision.
- Physical capacity to handle heavy industrial labor, lift up to 75 lbs, and work actively inside a large facility.
- Exceptional history of daily attendance, prompt punctuality, and reliable personal transportation.
