Mig Welder

Penmac Staffing is hiring Welders for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with a leading manufacturer of conveyor components. This Welder position is ideal for candidates with MIG welding experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment. Candidates with more than one year of welding experience are encouraged to apply.Requirements for the Welder

• High school diploma or GED required
• MIG welding experience required; Flux Core welding experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and use a tape measure accurately
• Experience performing out-of-position welds preferred
• Fit-up welding experience is a plus
• Experience working with jigs and fixtures is a plus
• Mechanically inclined and able to use hand tools, power tools, air tools, torches, and grinders
• Must pass an on-site welding test
• Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and drug screen
• Safety toe boots or shoes required

Welder Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate conveyor components according to specifications
• Perform MIG and Flux Core welding on mild steel materials
• Complete fit-up and production welding tasks
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
• Utilize jigs, fixtures, and fabrication equipment
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities
• Maintain quality standards and a clean work area
• Perform other duties as assigned

Schedule

• Full-time
• 1st Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Overtime on Fridays is expected
• Occasional Saturday overtime may be available
• Two paid 15-minute breaks
• 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Physical Requirements

• Stand, bend, crouch, and move throughout 10+ hour shifts
• Lift up to 40 pounds
• Use overhead cranes to move larger components
• Perform repetitive motions during welding and fabrication processes
• Work in a manufacturing environment with welding, grinding, and high noise levels
• Exposure to heat and welding fumes

Pay$19.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.Benefits Upon Hire by Client
