    Description

    We are seeking a skilled and dependable Welder / Fabricator to join our clients 2nd shift maintenance team. This position will work closely with our diesel mechanics to repair, reinforce, and fabricate components for a fleet of garbage and refuse trucks.

    This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and can work independently in a fast-paced shop environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform MIG, Stick, and other welding processes as required
    • Repair damaged truck bodies, containers, frames, and structural components
    • Fabricate brackets, supports, panels, and replacement parts
    • Cut, grind, fit, and assemble metal components
    • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measurements
    • Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and durability
    • Work alongside diesel mechanics on vehicle repairs and modifications
    • Operate welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment safely
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area
    • Follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements

    Qualifications

    • Previous welding and fabrication experience required
    • Experience with MIG welding preferred
    • Ability to read a tape measure accurately
    • Ability to use grinders, torches, plasma cutters, and fabrication tools
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
    Requirements

    Preferred Experience

    • Heavy equipment, truck, trailer, or fleet repair
    • Refuse truck or waste industry experience
    • Structural steel fabrication
    • Hydraulic equipment repair support
    • Manufacturing or industrial welding

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment
    • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions throughout the shift
    • Ability to work in a shop environment that may be hot, dirty, and physically demanding
    • Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment
