MIG Welding Fabrication Specialist (Mild Steel)

Your day at Ace Metal Works

Step onto the floor and turn raw mild steel into precision-built wire carriers and spools. You’ll review blueprints, set up jigs and fixtures, and lay down clean MIG welds that meet spec. Between passes, you’ll fit and assemble parts, grind and drill as needed, and verify dimensions so every assembly leaves your bench true, square, and ready for service.

What you’ll do

• Execute MIG welding on steel components to blueprint specifications
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings with accuracy
• Fit and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, and precision measuring tools
• Perform basic grinding, drilling, and cutting during assembly
• Inspect welds and finished builds for quality and dimensional accuracy
• Keep your station organized and uphold a safe, clean workspace

What you bring

• 2+ years of MIG welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing setting
• Ability to accurately read mechanical drawings and tape measures
• Comfort with common metalworking hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
• Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs routinely and work standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods
• Self-starter who works well independently and with a team

Preferred

• Background welding light to medium gauge steel
• Experience operating a forklift or overhead crane
• Basic mechanical assembly experience

Schedule & employment details

• 2nd Shift – Four (4) 10-hour shifts per week (3:15pm – 1:45am, M-TH)
• Consistent weekday schedule
