Your role

Lead enterprise mainframe modernization initiatives by designing resilient target architectures on Google Cloud Platform.

Serve as a strategic advisor to VP-level client stakeholders to drive high-stakes modernization conversations.

Guide executive steering committees, build consensus, and demystify complex legacy-to-cloud transformation roadmaps.

Champion automation and Agentic AI workflows to streamline the migration lifecycle and optimize project delivery.

The Hands On Migration Architect - Mainframe to GCP is a deeply technical role responsible for designing, building, migrating, and troubleshooting large scale mainframe workloads as they are modernized and moved to GCP

Strong hands on expertise across mainframe systems, cloud infrastructure, application modernization, data migration, and automation, with the architect actively participating in POCs, migration builds, performance tuning, cutover execution, and production stabilization.

Your skills and experience

12+ years in enterprise application and platform architecture.

6+ years of hands on experience in mainframe modernization or large scale legacy transformations.

Proven experience leading mainframe to cloud migration programs for large enterprises.

Architect parallel-testing strategies using Google Cloud Dual Run to replicate live traffic and ensure functional equivalence.

Utilize Cloud Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and GKE to support the Dual Run ecosystem and data telemetry.

Build decoupled, event-driven integration layers and manage hybrid connectivity between legacy data systems and modern APIs.

Lead assessment and discovery of legacy mainframe environments COBOL / PL I, CICS / IMS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, batch workloads

Design end to end GCP architecture covering application, data, integration, security, and network layers.

Define landing zone architecture

Ensure architectures meet enterprise security, compliance, and regulatory expectations.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $82,082 - $193,440.

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
