What You'll Do
As an Isuzu Service Technician Apprentice, you may:
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on commercial trucks
- Assist experienced technicians with diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Learn diesel engine, electrical, brake, suspension, HVAC, and driveline systems
- Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and shop equipment
- Complete apprenticeship and technician training requirements
- Build the skills needed for a long-term career as a professional technician
Military Experience That Transfers Well
Veterans with experience in the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:
- Wheeled vehicle maintenance
- Diesel mechanics
- Heavy equipment maintenance
- Automotive repair
- Aircraft maintenance
- Generator maintenance
- Fleet maintenance
- Maintenance management or supervision
- Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or power generation systems
Requirements- Transitioning Service Member or U.S. Military Veteran
- 3-5 years of military or civilian technician experience
- Honorable discharge or Commander's Statement of Service
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems
- Ability to provide professional references
- Clean driving record, as attested by the applicant
- Ability to complete the IVAP technical assessment
- Ability to pass applicable dealership background, driving record, and drug screening requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Diesel engine maintenance or repair experience
- Commercial truck, fleet vehicle, or heavy equipment experience
- Experience using diagnostic software and shop equipment
- Knowledge of electrical, brake, suspension, HVAC, and driveline systems
- ASE certifications, technical school training, or military maintenance training
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
