Mill MRO Buyer & Receiving Manager
Work directly for a national paper manufacturing company in St. Lawrence County, NY. This role offers the opportunity to lead mill-level MRO purchasing and storeroom operations while helping ensure critical materials are available for safe, reliable, and efficient production.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Manage daily MRO purchasing, requisitions, purchase orders, vendor follow-up, expediting, and material availability.
Oversee storeroom inventory, item setup, min/max levels, safety stock, cycle counts, inventory accuracy, and obsolete/slow-moving materials.
Coordinate with maintenance, operations, engineering, EHS, suppliers, and Corporate Sourcing to support planned maintenance, outages, and emergency needs.
Monitor purchasing and inventory KPIs and identify opportunities to improve supplier performance, inventory turns, purchasing efficiency, and cost control.
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience in MRO purchasing, tactical buying, storeroom management, maintenance materials, or a related supply chain role.
Strong understanding of purchase orders, vendor management, material expediting, inventory controls, and storeroom practices.
Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical parts and experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and follow-through skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Manufacturing, paper, pulp, packaging, industrial, or process-industry experience; experience supporting maintenance outages is a plus.
JD Edwards or eMaint experience and/or a bachelor's degree or APICS/ASCM, CPSM, or similar certification.
Compensation
$70,000-$85,000 annually, plus benefits
