Mill Clean Up Worker — Urgently hiring in Springfield!

Job Title: Mill Clean Up Worker


Pay: $23.53/hour


Hours: Monday - Friday, 4:30PM - 1:00AM


Start Date: ASAP


Looking for a physically active and dependable team player? Join our hardworking team at a local lumber mill as a Mill Clean Up Worker in Springfield and make an impact every day.


As a Mill Clean Up Worker, you'll help keep the production area clean, safe, and organized to support smooth manufacturing operations. You’ll work closely with machinery operators and fellow team members to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety in a fast-paced environment.


What You’ll Do


As a Mill Clean Up Worker, you will be responsible for:
  • Sweeping, shoveling, and vacuuming wood chips, sawdust, glue drips, and other debris
  • Keeping production areas clean and clear of obstructions
  • Cleaning around machinery, workstations, catwalks, and conveyors
  • Collecting, sorting, and disposing of scrap wood, rejected materials, and waste glue
  • Emptying garbage bins and dust collectors regularly
  • Assisting machine operators by clearing jam-ups or delivering materials
  • Supporting other areas of the mill as needed to keep operations running smoothly


What You’ll Bring
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • The ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting, pushing, and pulling
  • 2+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred
  • 1+ year of experience in wood manufacturing preferred
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced setting with attention to detail
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety policies
  • Quick learning ability for machinery used in wood processing and production
  • Experience with skill saws, hand tools, and power tools is a plus
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and lift 50-75 lbs. on a semi-regular basis
  • Reliable work ethic, good attendance, and punctuality
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment
