Job Summary

We are seeking an entry-level operator with experience in loading and unloading machines. While setup or programming experience is not required, familiarity with mills (Haas) or 3-axis machines is a plus. This position is based in Oceanside, CA, a vibrant coastal city known for its beautiful beaches and thriving community.

Responsibilities

  • Follow specific and general instructions, tool designs, drawings, standard practices, and recognized methods to lay out metal and nonmetal stock and operate machine tools.
  • Perform milling, drilling, turning, grinding, and material removal operations using chemical, CNC, or manual machinery.
  • Collaborate with engineering to resolve problems and develop new processes and procedures.
  • Set up and operate chemical, manual, and/or CNC multi-axis machining centers and tools for milling, drilling, grinding, or turning operations.
  • Work with engineering to assist in the development of machine or tank setup programming, including proofing of programs.
  • Identify and evaluate patterns, determining the method to remove material to meet customer specifications.
  • Load and unload etch fixtures using a forklift.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained and adhere to all specifications and procedures involving company and customer practices. Able to pass the OAP exam.
  • Record all operating parameters accurately and legibly in parts manufacturing documentation to ensure completion of work-in-process, inventories, schedules, labor expenditures, etc.
  • Maintain a clean work environment in compliance with company standards, customer, and government regulations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a business culture that supports the company's overall objectives and goals by providing leadership in cost, quality, process, schedule, and people issues.
  • Ensure a safe workplace and protect the environment through adherence to company policy and government regulations.
  • Comply fully with the "Company Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government" in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the government. Ensure subordinate staff is aware of the policy and their responsibility and accountability for compliance.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance of equipment according to a predefined schedule.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two years of technical school or college training in machine tool technology is highly desired.
