Wyo-Ben Pet is a new division of Wyo-Ben Inc. where we focus on the packaging of clumping cat litter. Wyo-Ben Pet’s new facility uses state-of-the-art equipment and offers a clean and safe work environment for employees which enables a critical focus on high quality finished products.
 
The Mill Utility role is responsible for becoming competent in all production positions. 
 
Specificresponsibilities may include:
  • Safely follow and perform Operator job description.
  • Safely follow and perform Transload job description.
  • Cover for any position above, as needed.
  • Interact with department supervisors and managers and other co-workers.
  • Responsible for reporting safety, quality, environmental and equipment concerns to Lead/Plant Manager.
  • Maintain consumables supply for current and upcoming production runs.
  • Operate Yard-Toter as needed to keep product flow consistent.
  • Keep work areas clean and free of debris and safety hazards in all areas of work.
  • Help with general preventative maintenance when needed.
  • Take corrective action prior to equipment failures.
  • Support and participate in the organizations Continual Improvement Program and Quality Management System.
  • Fill in for Lead as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
 
Education and training:
  • Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
Experience:
  • 1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing and packaging environment.
  • Toter or tractor-trailer experience a plus.
  • Competent in all Operator and Transload positions at Wyo-Ben Pet.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Problem solving skills: ability to identify source of problem; execute solution and document the issue; escalate to management.
  • Peer-to-peer and employee-to-supervisor communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic mathematics.
  • Ability to prepare and present clear and accurate reports.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
  • Reasonable accommodations are made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
  • Standing, walking, bending, and climbing 8-10 hours per day and at significant heights on catwalks.
  • Able to repetitively lift 50 lbs., throughout the shift., and occasionally pushes/pull or lift (team lift) up to 100 lbs.
  • Subject to dust, noise, fragrances, and temperature variations.
  • Frequently work outside in variable weather.
  • Exposure to moving machinery and mobile equipment, including electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Must comply with any safety or PPE requirements.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/ any shifts as needed.
  • Travel between the transload Laurel location and Wyo-Ben Pet; valid drivers license required.
