Job Title: Milling Forman\n \nLocation: Statewide, MS\n \nThe Foreman position serves as a key participant in the interaction between the Company (and their assigned crew), other contractors and our customers. The position is responsible for ensuring proper leadership, training and guidance to all crew members at job sites. Also operates equipment and ensures the safety of crew members via communicating and enforcing Company safety programs/policies/practices as well as OSHA and other related regulatory requirements.\n \nKey Responsibilities:\n \nResponsible for the control and operation of one or more types of milling equipment.\n \nMay operate or direct positions responsible for operating milling equipment (Milling Machine and/or Cold Planer) to properly mill asphalt/concrete to desired specification needs per each job.\n \nManipulates hand levers to control movements of milling machine that mills asphalt, concrete, stone or dirt on roadways and related surfaces such as parking lots, streets, highways, etc.\n \nMaintains an effective working relationship with Foreman \u2013 Clean Up Operations (as applicable) to ensure proper coordination of crews, project reviews, and job planning.\n \nMaintains effective working relationships with other key positions, such as Operations Manager(s), Superintendent(s), Project Manager(s)/Estimator(s), Shop personnel and other internal stakeholders.\n \nControls, manages, supervises and actively participates in the activities of any number of projects at various stages of work to ensure the accurate completion of the project.\n \nMay interact with customers by way of introductions at the beginning of a job, answering questions, responding to customer requests, making reasonable changes to the plan, and providing a walk-throughs as necessary.\n \nResponsible for workflow planning and organizing of jobs ensuring sufficient resources and materials are available and properly utilized.\n \nCommunicates with crew while on the job site, including the use of radios, hand signals, or other necessary forms of communication.\n \nDirects the work activities of Operators, Laborers and other assigned crew members (possibly including clean up positions/operations) ensuring jobs are completed in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.\n \nCreates and maintains a positive work culture; recognizes and proactively addresses and resolves issues/problems between crew members. Communicates personnel issues to management.\n \nCompletes all necessary recordkeeping associated with timesheets, material requisitions, customer tickets, and daily quantities.\n \nEnsures crew compliance with the Company's policies and procedures.\n \nOperates a variety of mechanical equipment in a safe manner.\n \nInspects, diagnoses, and corrects malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and/or components using appropriate testing equipment and/or tools.\n \nMay diagnose/troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electronic issues. Performs maintenance activities and reports non-routine problems and/or repair requirements to Shop Manager.\n \nInspect equipment, and/or components to identify hazards, defects, necessary adjustments and repairs.\n \nMay construct and fabricates part, using hand tools and specifications with input from shop personnel.\n \nDelivers on the job and safety related training may conduct safety tool box meetings.\n \nResponds to and proactively addresses/corrects safety violations. Actively participates in safety/incident investigations, completion of first reports of injury, modified duty assignments, etc.\n \nMaintains ability to work overtime, at nights and at weekends particularly during the high season.\n \nMaintains ability to travel up to 100% of time to various job sites, possibly including extended overnight stays.\n \nQualifications:\n\n Must be at least 18 years of age.\n Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen with a "Negative" result.\n Must be able to complete a post- offer physical with a "Capable" result\n Eligible to work in the United States\n Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold \n Experience preferred.\n Maintains regular and punctual attendance.\n Complete special projects as required.\n High school diploma or GED equivalent.\n A minimum of three (3) years of direct work-related experience.\n \nWorking Conditions:\n\n Ascend/Descend ladder 8-10 feet to access equipment operating station.\n Keep equipment moving along specified path to ensure equipment is processing material to required specifications.\n Remove excess built up material at the end of shift using scraper and shovel, periodically the operator may need to use jack or chipping hammers.\n May perform other duties as assigned by Forman or Manager.\n \nWork Environment:\n \nThis role operates in both office and active construction site environments.
