The Milling Operator is responsible for producing machined parts by setting up and operating a Horizontal Boring Mill; maintaining quality and safety standards; maintaining equipment and supplies. Essential Job Functions and Duties:Plans machining by reviewing work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, customer specifications, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.Operates mills by calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving and cutting; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; sharpening and replacing worn tools.Adheres to quality assurance procedures and processes.Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.Documents actions by completing production.Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.Education/Experience Required:High School Diploma or GED required.1-3 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
