Millwork Shop Manager

Job Summary

Grayco is looking to hire an experienced Millwork Shop Manager in Ridgeland, SC to replace the current manager who is retiring at the start of 2027.  The shop manufactures architectural doors, mouldings and various other custom millwork projects.  This opportunity will require an individual with experience in woodworking and construction that has managed both people and production schedules and can supervise the execution of high-quality millwork projects.  The Millwork Shop Manager will oversee shop operations, manage the production schedule and staff, and must be able to work directly with sales to ensure projects are completed efficiently and accurately.

Job Responsibilities

Directly responsible for:

• Oversee daily operations on shop floor
• Supervise and when needed assist the production team
• Support the use of woodworking machinery which includes
  • Moulders
• CNC Machines
• Various Industrial Saws
• Planers & jointer
• Additional millwork fabricating equipment
• Review and interpret detailed shop drawings
• Work with Sales Team to ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintain inventory levels and ensure materials are available for production
• Ensure all safety and housekeeping are followed
• Ensure Grayco maintains its goal of the highest level of customer service

Job Requirements

Education and or Experience Requirements

High School Degree

Carpentry experience

Previous supervisor experience

Physical Abilities

* Must be able to walk/stand from 0-10 hours per day.

* Bend from the waist occasionally.

* Must be able to lift from 0-40 lbs.

* Must be able to push and pull weights up to 40 lbs.

* Must be able to grasp and carry with both hands.

* Be exposed to dust.

* Be exposed to high noise levels and work around moving equipment.

* Must be able to work early or extended work hours, be detail-oriented and capable of juggling multiple/changing priorities and deadlines with minimal direction.

* Must be able to work in cold environments during winter and hot climate during summer.

*  Must be able to pass a drug test

Pay Will Depend on Experience $75,000-$100,000 a year
