    Position Summary:

    Millwrights are responsible for safely inspecting, repairing, and reassembling small, medium, and large paper machine rolls in an industrial environment. The position involves operating mechanical tooling and overhead cranes while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Experience in setups and practices used in working on large equipment with a strong emphasis on SAFETY and quality:

    • Set up, disassemble / reassemble, inspect, and repair small, medium, and large paper machine rolls.

    • Perform repairs in accordance with established practices while maintaining Voith Paper quality standards in a safe and efficient manner.

    • Operate mechanical tooling including drills, taps, pullers, bearing heaters, presses, and hydraulic test units.

    • Use micrometers for measuring inside/outside diameters.

    • Welding experience desired.

    • Understand and operate mechanical assemblies and various roll types used in paper machine manufacturing and related equipment.

    • Experience operating overhead cranes (60‑ and 100‑ton capacity).

    • Perform housekeeping duties as needed in an industrial environment.

    Requirements:

    • Experienced industrial/heavy equipment mechanic OR a trainee who exhibits the requirements as detailed under general responsibilities.
    • High school diploma preferred but not required if the experience level determined by Voith management offsets this requirement.
    • Dependable, having good attendance, and willing to work overtime when required.
    • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and perform additional tasks as needed.
    • Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection)
    • Personally exhibit safety as a core value and effectively communicate a shared vision for safety
    • Work effectively alone or within a team
    • Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
    • Analyze problems and develop solutions independently or with teams
    • Basic computer skills
