Job Description


This role focuses on precision installation and rebuilding of heavy industrial equipment in a remote plant environment. You will perform specialized ball mill installations, align critical components using precision instruments, and help rebuild an industrial facility after demolition. The position requires hands-on field work at high elevation in challenging outdoor conditions, supporting a long-term industrial construction project.


Responsibilities


+ Perform ball mill installations as a specialized millwright trade, ensuring accurate setup and reliable operation.

+ Set sole plates using precision optical instruments to achieve exact alignment and levelness.

+ Align motors, gears, and related rotating equipment using laser alignment tools to meet precise tolerances.

+ Oversee and participate in mechanical installations, including filter presses and other process equipment.

+ Work closely with the millwright crew to install new ball mills, CIL tanks, filter presses, and thickener tanks.

+ Support the demolition and subsequent rebuilding of an old industrial plant, including refurbishment and new equipment installation.

+ Ensure all mechanical work meets project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

+ Use and care for precision instruments such as optic levels and laser levels provided on site.

+ Collaborate with foremen and crew members to coordinate daily tasks, address field challenges, and maintain productivity.

+ Adapt to working in a remote industrial jobsite at approximately 7,000 feet elevation with primarily outdoor work.


Essential Skills


+ Proven experience as a millwright in heavy industrial construction environments.

+ Hands-on experience performing ball mill installations and related heavy mechanical work.

+ Demonstrated ability to set sole plates using precision optics for accurate alignment.

+ Proficiency in aligning motors and gears using laser alignment equipment.

+ Strong experience in industrial equipment installation, including tanks, presses, and related mechanical systems.

+ Ability to work safely and effectively in remote, high-elevation, outdoor industrial jobsites.

+ Capacity to work extended hours, including 6 days per week and 10-hour shifts.

+ For foreman roles, ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking workers, including bilingual capability when needed.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Previous experience with large heavy industrial contractors is preferred.

+ Experience on heavy industrial projects is strongly preferred over data center or light indoor environments.

+ Experience in heavy industrial outfits rather than conveyor installation or light material handling work is preferred.

+ Experience supervising or leading crews in industrial construction is an asset, especially for foreman roles.

+ Comfort using computer hardware for foreman responsibilities when required.

+ Ability to work effectively in multilingual crews and support Spanish-only speaking workers where applicable.

Work Environment


The project is located in a remote area approximately an hour and a half from a small Nevada town, with no services directly at the site. Work takes place almost entirely outdoors at around 7,000 feet elevation, with changing weather conditions, including snow in winter and cooler temperatures as the season progresses. The team is refurbishing an old industrial site and constructing a new plant, using heavy industrial equipment and precision tools such as optic levels and laser alignment systems. Transportation is provided from town to the site each day, typically departing around 4:15–4:30 AM and returning around 6:00 PM. The standard schedule is 60 hours per week, working six 10-hour days, with on-site shifts generally running from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Housing options, including hotels and some apartments, are available in the nearby town, but accommodations can be limited due to its small size. The environment is rugged, industrial, and highly field-oriented, requiring appropriate workwear suitable for outdoor construction and heavy mechanical work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $36.00/hr.
