As a growing company, we are looking Millwright Mechanic to work with our Operations Shift in our Salt Lake City, Utah location. This position will be assigned to a process unit and will work with a team of 4-5 employees.
Job Description:
Experience with conveyors and conveyance systems. Ability to track belts and troubleshoot issues
Must be mechanically proficient
Install and maintain machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
Proficient in stick and wire feed welding
Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts
Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, levels, lasers, and plumb bobs
Level/ establish centerline, using straightedge, levels, and transit
Shrink-fit bushings, sleeves, rings, liners, gears, and wheels to specified items, using portable gas heating equipment
Dismantle machinery and equipment for shipment to installation site, usually performing installation and maintenance work as part of team
Construct and/or repair machine foundations using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement, grout and/ or steel
Replace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts, adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance and replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts
Ensure assigned work is understood prior to commencing
Comply with standards and procedures of Metro Group INC''s Health and Safety program, including job safety analyses, Risk assessments, etc. Assure compliance of team members
Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area daily and/or when required
Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
Complete required paperwork
Perform other job responsibilities as assigned
Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials
Inspect rigging to ensure safety and reliability
Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools
Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and certified load ratings
Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain falls, overhead frames, and other equipment
Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques
Align, level, and anchor machinery
Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps
Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use
Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment '' running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles
Controlling Machines and Processes '' using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (including computers or vehicles)
Working knowledge of Hydraulic systems and ability to troubleshoot
Qualifications:
HS diploma or equivalent
Minimum three (3) years proven experience or comparable field preferably within the Industrial Maintenance industry
Valid driver''s license
Basic electrical and controls knowledge a plus
