Industrial Field Millwright (Local Travel)

Overview:
Greiner Industries is seeking a skilled Journeyman Millwright with expertise in TIG welding, industrial systems, and machinery to join our team. This role will focus on our food grade customers, in which TIG welding will be required. This role is critical in providing on-site support & maintenance for our industrial clients, ensuring that machinery and equipment operate efficiently and reliably. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in diverse environments, often under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Equipment Maintenance & Repair:
- Provide hands-on maintenance on conveyors and other machinery.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and emergency repairs on machinery to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency at customer sites.
- Install new machinery or equipment as per client specifications, ensuring correct setup.
- Weld and fabricate (TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core)
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to perform installations.
- Customer Interaction & Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during service visits, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
- Communicate technical issues, repair plans, and recommendations to customers in a clear and concise manner.
- Maintain strong customer relationships by providing timely, efficient, and courteous service.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and observe all safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of time worked, travel expenses, and other administrative tasks required for billing and reporting purposes.
Specific Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or related fields preferred.
- 7+ years of experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role, with a focus on industrial machinery or equipment (preferred).
- Experience with a broad range of industrial systems (e.g., installing: motors, pumps, hydraulic systems) is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical/hydraulic systems and the ability to repair/maintain them.
- Experience with welding and fabrication is advantageous.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as Industrial Maintenance Certifications, are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, as this position requires extensive travel.

- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical clients.

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or after-hours, as needed.
- Physical stamina to handle heavy equipment and perform manual tasks in industrial environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, high places, and noisy settings.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods.
- Ability to travel regularly and work at different client locations, sometimes requiring overnight stays.
Work Environment:
- This position involves traveling to client sites, which may include industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, or construction sites.
- Exposure to industrial machinery, electrical equipment, chemicals, and other hazards typical of industrial environments.
- The work environment may require exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Must provide personal transportation to/from job site (paid mileage/time)
