Description

Requirements:
  • Relevant technical designation from an accredited institution (or equivalent education and/or field experience).
  • Heavy industrial steel mill experience is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret technical information in written and diagrammatic forms.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Solid understanding of contract language.
  • Construction experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Responsibilities:
  • Calculate and estimate the expected cost of construction projects.
  • Prepare competitive bids through cost review and analysis.
  • Provide accurate estimates based on detailed analysis of all cost information.
  • Support successful project completion through collaboration and input.
  • Perform duties overlapping with project management responsibilities.
  • Estimate and manage millwright, mechanical, and rigging projects (including machinery assembly, erection, relocation, dismantling, and full process line/plant moves).
  • Perform structural steel material take-offs and labor estimating.
  • Manage job costing and construction accounting with financial oversight of projects.
  • Assemble RFQ packages for fabricators and subcontractors.
  • Read, understand, and manage bid and construction documents, including P&IDs, ISO's, technical specs, and contract documents.
  • Apply rigging knowledge, including cranes, hydraulic gantries, lift trucks, jack-and-slide systems, and specialized rigging methods.
  • Utilize millwright knowledge for layout, machine installation, assembly/disassembly, leveling, and alignment.
