Description
Requirements:
Relevant technical designation from an accredited institution (or equivalent education and/or field experience).
Heavy industrial steel mill experience is preferred.
Ability to interpret technical information in written and diagrammatic forms.
Strong math skills.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Solid understanding of contract language.
Construction experience is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Responsibilities:
Calculate and estimate the expected cost of construction projects.
Prepare competitive bids through cost review and analysis.
Provide accurate estimates based on detailed analysis of all cost information.
Support successful project completion through collaboration and input.
Perform duties overlapping with project management responsibilities.
Estimate and manage millwright, mechanical, and rigging projects (including machinery assembly, erection, relocation, dismantling, and full process line/plant moves).
Perform structural steel material take-offs and labor estimating.
Manage job costing and construction accounting with financial oversight of projects.
Assemble RFQ packages for fabricators and subcontractors.
Read, understand, and manage bid and construction documents, including P&IDs, ISO's, technical specs, and contract documents.
Apply rigging knowledge, including cranes, hydraulic gantries, lift trucks, jack-and-slide systems, and specialized rigging methods.
Utilize millwright knowledge for layout, machine installation, assembly/disassembly, leveling, and alignment.
