SUMMARY
The Mine Engineer will support the Technical Services Department in advancing the reactivation of a historic underground mining operation with over 140 years of legacy. Working within established procedures and in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, the Mine Engineer will assist in providing technical input related to underground mine engineering, including mine design, scheduling, dewatering, and ventilation planning.
This role is instrumental in supporting the evaluation and planning efforts required to bring the mine back into production. The Mine Engineer will contribute to the preparation of engineering studies, project development plans, and operational readiness initiatives. A focus will be placed on applying sound engineering practices to safely and efficiently support the transition from care and maintenance to active operations, while preserving the integrity of the mine’s historical infrastructure and aligning with modern standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mine Engineer will support the Technical Services team in bringing the Sunshine Mine back into production. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Mine Engineer will assist in the development and execution of mine planning, engineering design, and operational support tasks.
