This Mining Engineer position is located at GCCs Tijeras, NM plant, just 15 minutes from Albuquerque, NM. Relocation assistance is available.
We are seeking a motivated Mining Engineer with a Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering and 0-5 years of mining industry experience. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of mine planning, engineering principles, permitting, regulatory compliance, and project coordination, with the ability to support mining operations through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
This individual will assist with mine planning, engineering projects, permitting activities, contractor coordination, and operational improvement efforts while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The successful candidate will help prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation, support daily mining operations, and contribute to safe, efficient, and sustainable mining practices.
Experience with AutoCAD, Carlson, Trimble, GIS, or similar mining and surveying software is preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills are essential. Internship, co-op, or hands-on field experience in mining, aggregates, construction materials, or related industries will be considered valuable.
Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification, Professional Engineer (PE) certification, or the ability to obtain certification is preferred. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, collaborative, eager to learn, and capable of growing into increasing levels of engineering responsibility while supporting the successful operation and long-term development of mining and quarry assets.

The incumbent in this position has responsibility for mine planning, permitting (local, state & federal), construction projects, site engineering, and assisting mine management in solving, in the soundest and economic way possible, a wide variety of engineering and mine planning issues as they arise, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies.
