Caterpillar's Central Forecasting team is seeking a Mining Forecast Analyst to support global Resource Industries forecasting. This role plays a key part in developing, analyzing, and communicating forecasts that influence business planning and decision‑making across the organization.
As an individual contributor, you will leverage economic insight, statistical methodologies, and data analytics tools to develop forecasts across Sales to Users, Dealer Inventory, Commercial Shipments, and Industry demand. You will partner closely with business stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights and effectively communicate findings to leadership.
What You Will Do
Monitor economic trends and market conditions impacting Mining, Quarrying, and Resource Industries
Develop forecasts for:
Monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
Long Term Forecast (LTF)
Annual Business Planning (ABP)
Track Sales to User, Shipment, and Order activity, analyzing variances and identifying forecast risks
Develop and maintain forecasting models using statistical and economic methodologies
Utilize tools such as Power BI, Excel, and data platforms to build reports, visualize trends, and communicate insights
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights to support business decisions
Partner with business teams to align forecasts and communicate findings to leadership audiences
Prepare and deliver reports through presentations, written analysis, and meetings
Support ad hoc analysis and forecasting requests as needed

Summary Pay Range:
$97,530.00 - $146,290.00
