Be the Safety Coach on a Mission-Critical Build
Picture your day: you arrive at a live data center construction site in Cartersville or Harlem, check the day’s high-voltage work windows, review Job Hazard Analyses, coach trade partners on NFPA 70E practices, and walk the deck as the owner's eyes and ears. You’re not a safety cop—you’re a trusted advisor who helps the general contractor and subs work smarter and safer. By afternoon, your incident-prevention walkthrough turns into a quick root-cause review and a concise report to the client. You wrap with daily documentation and your weekly timesheet—paperwork done, risks reduced, team coached.
The Engagement
- Location: Cartersville, GA or Harlem, GA (onsite at data center construction)
- Term: 12-month contract (start immediately)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day (full-time onsite)
- Classification & Pay: 1099 contractor, $50–$52 per hour
- Housing: $500 weekly housing allowance for candidates residing 75+ miles from the site
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the owner’s representative—act as the on-site safety advocate and liaison with the GC and trades.
- Coach field teams: reinforce a “Safety Coach, not Safety Cop” mindset that builds engagement and accountability.
- Oversee safe electrical work practices, including high-voltage activities and NFPA 70E compliance.
- Conduct hazard and risk assessments; verify method statements and controls are effective and followed.
- Lead or contribute to post-incident/root-cause analyses and communicate corrective actions clearly.
- Maintain daily H&S documentation and submit weekly timesheets using digital tools.
- Ensure alignment with ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 principles and applicable regional H&S regulations.
- Communicate with clarity—produce concise written updates for the Owner/Client and coordinate with the Project GC.
What You’ll Bring
- Mission-critical/data center project experience required.
- Bachelor’s in Health & Safety preferred.
- Experience pathways: 7+ years in data center construction safety; or 10+ years in construction safety if you do not have data center experience or a degree.
- High-voltage experience preferred; strong command of NFPA 70E.
- CHST (BCSP) preferred; OSHA 500/510 strongly preferred.
- Fluency in the local language and proficiency in English (native or secondary).
- In-depth knowledge of regional H&S regulations and standards; competency with ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for both client-facing and GC coordination.
- Comfort with digital tools to complete daily paperwork and weekly timesheets.
