Position Details

POSITION OPENING: Migratory / English Learner Teacher (4 days a week) for 2026-2027 School Year

Serving migratory students and English Learners in Fulton School District in Middleton, MI.

Duties

Provide English instruction to English Learner (EL) students and migratory students in the Fulton School District in Middleton, MI,

Coordinate with classroom teachers to determine academic needs and an appropriate learning plan/schedule for English Learners and migratory students.

Plan appropriate lessons to promote English language proficiency and collaborate with classroom teachers regarding appropriate accommodations for English learners (share developed program resources).

Administer WIDA Screeners and WIDA Access assessments.

Use WIDA scores to scaffold appropriate English language proficiency lessons for qualified students.

Schedule instruction in multiple school buildings to maximize students' instructional minutes.

Complete and submit payroll logs, mileage logs, instructional logs, and student progress reports to Mid-Michigan Migrant & EL Program Director.

Communicate effectively and regularly with parents, classroom teachers, building Principals, & Mid-Michigan Migrant and EL Director.

Complete Student Accountability Spreadsheets (student data spreadsheets).

Qualifications

Certified teacher with ESL endorsement/certification, bilingual certification, or willing to obtain certification. Prefer: Elementary certification

Ability to speak, read, and write well in English

Spanish is strongly preferred, but not required

Experience teaching multilingual students preferred

Ability to work independently without daily input from a supervisor and maintain confidentiality at all times with all stakeholders

Pleasant and cooperative attitude dealing with students, classroom teachers, and the other school staff members

Conditions of Employment

The successful applicant will be an employee of Willsub / ESS Midwest.

Applicants must have fingerprints done on Livescan, be cleared, and complete the ESS application process prior to employment @ $236.50 per day with no benefits (with teaching certificate).

Pursuant to State of Michigan Student Safety Legislation, all prospective hires must provide fingerprinting and background check results to the District prior to employment.
