    Description

    General patient assessment head-to-toe, including recognizing complications if and when they arise. Understanding and implementing radiation safety measures, when applicable. Explaining procedures to patients and family members and addressing concerns while communicating with other team members and radiologists of patients needs when applicable. Capable of making critical decisions and acting on critical situations. Able to adjust quickly to new environments and juggling multiple responsibilities between departments. Providing effective patient care by solving problems when they arise. Shift: 0800-1630 Weekend/ Call Requirements: weekend and weeknight call rotation Top Diagnosis/Procedures: Sedation for Invasive Procedures: Port Placements/Removals, Tunneled & Non-Tunneled Line Placements/Removals, CT Biopsies (Liver, Lung, Deep Bone, Bone Marrow, Renal, Lymph Node), Chest Tube Placements, CT Guided Drain Placements, IVC Filter Placements/Removals, Nephrostomy Tubes, Neurovascular Intervention for Stroke. Non-Invasive: Sedation for MRIs, Port Access/Deaccess, MRI Defibrillator/Cardiac Device Monitoring Infrequent/Special Procedures done on unit: Chemo embolizations, Uterine Artery Embolizations Common Medications used: Versed, Fentanyl, Cefazolin, Levaquin, Lidocaine, Nitroglycerin Spray. (Rad Nurses do NOT manage Propofol drips or pressors Common Equipment: Computer, ISTAT, ACT Machine, Penumbra, IV Pump, Vital Sign Machine Nurse Patient Ratio: 1:1 for proced. sedation Required/Preferred Skills: Line Management Skills: Required: IV Insertion, PICC/Central Line Management, Vascular Device Access/Care Preferred: CVP Cardiac Skills: Required: Tele Interpretation, Cardioversion/Defibrillation Preferred: Sheath Removal Airway Skills: Required: Procedural Sedation OBGYN/OR Skills: Required: Circulate

    Shift: 800-1630 M-F with call rotation
