SonoVet is looking for a driven, upbeat veterinarian to build our newest region: Buffalo, NY and the surrounding area. Since 2008, we've been the go-to mobile diagnostic ultrasound service for animal hospitals across South Texas - Austin, San Antonio, the I-35 Corridor, and the Hill Country. Now we're expanding beyond Texas, and Buffalo - an underserved market ready for exactly what we do - is next.

You'll work exclusively with primary care veterinarians, collaborate with board-certified specialists on complex cases, and deliver fast, high-quality diagnostic imaging that helps patients get answers sooner. Enjoy

What You'll Do

Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, including:

• Abdominal and thoracic exams
• Full Doppler echocardiograms, submitted to one of our multiple board-certified in-house cardiologists for interpretation
• Thyroid and parathyroid exam
• Cryptorchid exams
• Ocular exams
• General health screening
• Pregnancy evaluation
• Ultrasound-guided fluid cavity centesis
• Ultrasound-guided fine-needle and tru-cut core biopsies
• Accurate, thorough, and timely medical reports

Responsibilities and Benefits

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
• US state veterinary licensure in good standing
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical veterinary experience
• Ultrasound experience/training highly preferred. Proficiency is not required, but candidates that exhibit proficiency will be given priority consideration.
• A desire to become an master of medicine and cardiology through the lens of an ultrasound probe

Training & Support

• Up to 4 months of hands-on one-on-one training with SonoVet veterinarians
• Ongoing daily collaboration with SonoVet Clinical Sonographers, in-house radiologists and cardiologists - you will be part of a large team of experienced sonographers with a collective experience of over 100,000 cases
• Continuing education course support

• 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday - no weekends or holidays!

Physical Demands

This role involves sitting, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, plus moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects up to 40 pounds without assistance. It requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment, along with the ability to operate a computer and related equipment. Up to 3 hours per day may be spent sitting in a vehicle. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
