Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Operates field tractors(over 52 Horsepower) with attachments such as bushhogs, belly attachments, blades, gang mowers, hoes, loaders, etc., used to maintain grounds, ditches, etc in the port area. Cuts grass, weeds, trees, and brush

  • Picks up and disposes of trash collected from port property and facilities

  • Water ships at port facilities

  • Operates forklifts and backhoes, etc when necessary

  • Make minor repairs to equipment and perform maintenance necessary to keep equipment clean and in good working order

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational - up o 24 months

Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group, this may be filled as a Mobile Equipment Operator 1 or 2.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Thursday.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

All individuals employed by the Greater BR Port Commission must have or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
