Job Requirements
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating forklifts or other mobile/heavy equipment
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and shipping instructions
• Ability to safely load, unload, move, and stage heavy materials
• Strong attention to detail when inspecting materials, identifying shipments, and verifying quantities
• Willingness to work overtime as business needs require
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production and shipping teams
• Strong communication skills and commitment to continuous improvement
• Commitment to following all safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards
• Preferred: Experience operating mobile equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Preferred: Experience serving on a safety committee or in another safety-focused leadership role
Job Duties
• Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment to move materials throughout the yard and facility
• Load and unload trucks and railcars while securing materials with appropriate bracing or strapping
• Read work orders and coordinate material movement according to production and shipping requirements
• Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for accuracy, condition, and proper handling requirements
• Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records
• Label shipments and apply special handling instructions when required
• Complete daily equipment inspections and safety checks
• Operate banding, taping, sealing, and other material handling equipment
• Support production, shipping, and warehouse operations while maintaining a safe and organized work environment
Nucor Skyline is hiring a Mobile Equipment Operator in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania to safely move, load, unload, and prepare steel materials for shipment while supporting daily production and yard operations. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of forklift or heavy equipment experience, the ability to interpret work orders, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliable production.
