Role snapshot
- Title: Mobile Heavy Equipment Diagnostics Mechanic
- Scope: Field-based troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance for aerial devices, construction equipment, and light/heavy-duty trucks — including bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes, and service trucks.
- Systems: Diesel, hydraulic, and electrical (including electronics and controls).
- Compliance: DOT inspections, dielectric testing, and full documentation on CTOS rental and customer-owned assets.
Territory and travel
- Louisiana, Mississippi, East Texas, and Western Alabama coverage.
- 60–80%+ travel with routine overnights.
- Frequent Gulf Coast work supporting oil, gas, and utility sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain utility trucks and equipment at customer sites.
- Interpret electrical schematics, evaluate hydraulic performance, and resolve diesel drivability concerns.
- Conduct inspections, perform parts replacement, complete functional testing, and return equipment to service.
- Collaborate with CTOS teams and customers; operate independently when remote.

What you bring
- 7+ years of shop and field experience with utility, construction (yellow iron), or heavy equipment (CAT, Deere, Komatsu) and medium/heavy-duty trucks.
- Advanced mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic ability.
- Self-sufficient, organized, and effective both solo and with a team.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class B a plus. Personal tools required.
