McCarthy Tire is looking for an experienced and dependable Mobile Maintenance Mechanic to join our Hickory, NC team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanic who enjoys troubleshooting, working independently, and getting the job done right. You’ll travel to customer locations to perform maintenance and repairs on trailers and medium- to heavy-duty trucks while providing the professional service our customers depend on.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, and routine servicing.
• Diagnose and repair brake, suspension, electrical, and mechanical issues.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on trailers and medium- to heavy-duty trucks.
• Troubleshoot problems and identify effective repair solutions.
• Travel to customer locations and perform mobile repairs in the field.
• Provide professional, courteous customer service while working onsite.
• Complete service calls safely, efficiently, and professionally.
• Work occasional overtime and handle light after-hours service calls as needed.
• Assist other team members and departments when needed. 

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous hands-on mechanical or maintenance experience preferred.
• Welding experience required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
• Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to assist wherever needed.
• Technicians must provide their own tools.

Preferred Qualifications

These qualifications are a plus, but are not required:

• CDL
• Class 7 Inspection License
• Previous mobile repair or field-service experience
• Medium- and heavy-duty truck experience
• Trailer repair experience
