Mobile Maintenance Technician

Setting/Hours: 100% in Office| Full-time

Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Lebanon, Ohio that’s expanding its Manufacturing team. 

The Opportunity:


  • Growing non-ferrous scrap metal processing company operating a 100, 000-square-foot heavy industrial facility with approximately 45 employees.

  • Seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to support plant operations, production equipment, and mobile equipment maintenance.

  • Work environment is heavy industrial in nature and includes exposure to loud, dirty, and physically demanding conditions.

  • Position is part of a lean maintenance team requiring strong independence, initiative, and self-motivation.

  • Ideal candidates are versatile professionals who can handle multiple responsibilities and work effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Opportunity to play a key role in maintaining operational reliability within a fast-moving industrial environment.


What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Hands-on maintenance role supporting industrial production equipment, facility systems, and mobile heavy equipment operations.

  • Performs maintenance and repair work on a variety of heavy and mobile equipment, including skid steers, excavators, wheel loaders, forklifts, sweepers, and material handling equipment.

  • Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues to support safe and efficient operations.

  • Completes preventative maintenance and repair work accurately and within established timelines.

  • Identifies and sources required replacement parts while utilizing technical manuals and equipment documentation for troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Maintains accurate parts inventory and service records to support ongoing maintenance operations.

  • Uses proper diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify equipment failures and perform effective repairs.

  • Requires strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a demanding industrial environment.

Electrical & Controls:


  • Troubleshoots and repairs 480V three-phase motor control systems within an industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Reads and interprets electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.

  • Installs conduit and performs wiring installation, termination, and testing.

  • Diagnoses and repairs VFDs, motor controls, and related electrical components.

  • Works with Allen-Bradley and PLC Direct components and systems.

  • PLC troubleshooting or programming experience is considered a plus but is not required.

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and ability to work safely around industrial electrical systems are essential.

Mechanical / Industrial Maintenance:


  • Performs both preventive and reactive maintenance on industrial production machinery and equipment.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs electro-mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.

  • Completes welding, fabrication, and general mechanical repair work as needed.

  • Maintains and repairs conveyors and material-handling systems throughout the facility.

  • Assists with rigging activities, equipment moves, and installation projects.

  • Supports plant improvement initiatives and light facility maintenance projects.

  • Responds quickly to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair situations in a heavy industrial environment.

  • Requires strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, adaptability, and the ability to work independently in a hands-on maintenance role.

Communication, Safety & Documentation:


  • Accurately completes work orders, timecards, and maintenance documentation using tablet-based systems.

  • Communicates clearly and professionally with production teams, management, and coworkers to support efficient operations.

  • Maintains a safe and organized work environment while following all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Handles confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

  • Represents the company in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Environment:


  • Work environment is extremely dirty, loud, and physically demanding within a heavy-industrial scrap metal facility.

  • Candidates must be physically capable of performing hands-on maintenance work and comfortable working in challenging industrial conditions.

Must‑Have Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED required;technical or trade school training preferred.

  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or related environment preferred.

Industrial, manufacturing, automotive, military, or mobile equipment backgrounds considered:


  • Strong mechanical aptitude required;electrical troubleshooting or maintenance exposure preferred.

  • Comfortable working in a lean maintenance environment where flexibility and handling multiple responsibilities are essential.

  • Willingness and ability to learn PLC systems and industrial controls.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

  • Comfortable using computers and tablets for maintenance documentation and communication.

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Demonstrated reliability, strong attendance history, and solid work ethic required.

Experience Preferred:


  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a mobile equipment mechanic required.

  • At least 2 years of industrial or heavy equipment maintenance experience preferred.

Tools, PPE & Dress:


  • Steel-toed boots are required and must be provided by the employee.

  • Employees may use personal tools;however, the company is not responsible for lost or damaged personal equipment.

  • Company-provided uniforms are available upon permanent hire/conversion, with a required uniform deposit.

Screening Requirements:


  • Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.

  • Company is open to considering candidates with prior backgrounds on a case-by-case basis, particularly when offenses are non-violent and the candidate is transparent and honest throughout the hiring process.
