Summary of Position The Associate V may perform a variety of significant tasks, which contribute to the over-all performance and safety of pistachio & almond production machinery and systems. These may include performing tasks in multiple areas, including but not limited to Electrical Systems, Fabrication, Facilities, Food Safety, IT, Maintenance, Mobile Shop, Packaging, Production, over-all goals of various departments.

Duties & Responsibilities (You may be asked to perform some, or all of the duties described below. These may include performing tasks in multiple areas, including but not limited to Electrical Systems, Fabrication, Facilities, Food Safety, IT, Maintenance, Mobile Shop, Packaging, Production, Sanitation and Water Systems.)

Mobile Mechanic

  • Perform repair work on vehicles and equipment, such as breakdowns, malfunctions, and emergency repairs both in-plant and roadside, in a safe, efficient, and quality manner with minimal assistance and supervision.
  • Perform operation tests prior to repairs to verify complaint.
  • Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications, including engines, transmissions, and clutches, suspensions and steering, fuel and ignition (gas, diesel, and propane). Electrical systems, brakes, and HVAC systems.
  • Follow paper-flow procedures, including documents correct mileage/hours, saving and tagging all warranty and core parts, documenting all repairs on works order using complaint, cause, and correction format, and following parts ordering procedures.
  • Able to perform complete trailer rewiring, including installing and testing 7-way connectors with supervision.
  • Perform final operational tests on all work to quality-check all repairs.
  • Perform required inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment (TK, Lifts, Heavy Equipment, Diesel, etc.) Such as fluid changes, lubrications, safety inspections, and brake repairs, etc. with little to no supervision.
  • Perform BIT inspections.
  • Able to identify brake and drum sizes and interpret show mics and adjustments specifications supervision.
  • Troubleshoot ABS (Anti-lock Braking system) under minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot lighting system and perform component replacements with minimal supervision.
  • Use scanner and computer for trouble shooting with minimal supervision.
  • Minimal AC repair knowledge.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on off-road equipment such as lubrications, adjustments, cutting-edge replacements, and safety inspections with supervision.
  • Able to properly operate a tire mounting and dismounting machine with minimal supervision.
  • Able to properly inspect tires for damage, know tire sizing, and determine appropriate size based on specifications (May reference standard operating procedures (SOPS)).
  • Examine vehicles and equipment to determine if any additional safety or repair work is needed.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair forklifts and aerial lift equipment to maintain the safety and reliability of the unit.
  • Visually inspect the structural integrity of aerial lift equipment and forklifts and report any deficiencies so that they can be corrected.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to forklifts and aerial equipment in accordance with manufacturers and ANSI guidelines in a timely manner to maximize the life cycle and productivity of the equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and repair welding on equipment. Fabricate parts as required, including any design work needed.
  • Capable of welding, cutting, grinding, and measuring using appropriate tools and equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Inspect for cracks or damage to assess needed repairs.
  • Participate in Harvest-related preparation, tasks, or projects.
  • General janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, wiping, trash removal, pressure washing, etc.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred but not required).
  • Communicate issues or concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Intermediate to advanced level tablet, phone, and computer skills required.
  • Attend safety meetings and other departmental or company related meeting as assigned.
  • Participate in all "Lock Out-Tag out" (LOTO) and job Safety Analysis (JSA) events and trainings.
  • Observe all "Good Manufacturing Practices" (GMPs) as specified by the Companys food safety policy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. (May also be asked to perform "Task Level 1 & 2" duties as needed).

Pay Range: $22.80/hr

Education / Experience

  • High School diploma or general education diploma (GED) recommended.
  • Trade/Technical certification recommended.
  • 2-4 years of related experience recommended.
  • Valid CA Drivers License.
  • Required WPA training.
  • Forklift, Yardgoat, and Defensive Driving Certified, etc.
