    Description

    Role Overview

    This mobile technician supports network, cabling, and wireless infrastructure across a 2‑hour service radius. The role focuses on field installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and customer-facing technical support.

    Schedule

    • Primarily Monday–Friday/Saturday, mostly daytime
    • Occasional night work for project or incident support
    • Weekend project work may be required with advance notice
    • Participation in a rotating weekly on‑call schedule

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform installation, service, upgrades, and repairs for low-voltage cabling (Cat3–Cat6), fiber, communications cabling, and related systems.

    • Pull, measure, and route wiring through conduits; complete patching and cross‑connect work (66/110 block).

    • Install, configure, and test network hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi systems, antennas, and related devices.

    • Execute complex MAC (Move/Add/Change) requests within defined SLAs.

    • Diagnose and resolve cabling and network performance issues; provide break‑fix support.

    • Maintain optimal performance of network closets, perform cleanups, switch port optimization, and site surveys.

    • Conduct onsite testing (data, voice, security, carrier circuit testing).

    • Support UPS/power restoral, water-related issues, and facilities-related tasks.

    • Perform preventive and incidental maintenance on wireless and Wi-Fi systems.

    • Document work in company systems (time reporting, work orders, materials, SLA requirements).

    • Coordinate with NACS Operations teams; communicate status updates to management.

    • Respond to emergency calls during or after hours to meet SLAs.

    • Transport tools/equipment and attend required meetings, training, and workshops.

    • Meet performance targets and KPIs.

     

    Requirements

    • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle capable of transporting a 6‑ft ladder.

    • Smartphone for email/ticketing; laptop proficiency with basic Office 365 (Word, Excel).

    • Basic cabling/technician tools; ability to use cable and fiber testers.

    • Experience working in communications closets; ability to lift heavy objects safely.

    • Knowledge of cable patching, cross‑connect procedures, IP phones, and data networking fundamentals.

    • Ability to troubleshoot issues and explain technical concepts clearly to customers.

    • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

     

    Experience & Education

    • 5+ years in data communications.

    • Working knowledge of Cisco phones, switches, routers, and LAN/WAN fundamentals.

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
