Tesla is currently hiring a skilled AMR Technician to support our Production Control Operations. This individual will be responsible for mapping, monitoring, and maintaining the Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) fleet, ensuring uninterrupted material movement across production areas. The role involves executing AMR deployment, operational checks, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, improving fleet efficiency, and upholding the accuracy and reliability of our automated material flow systems. Perform other duties as assigned to support production and material flow operations.
Monitor and operate the Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) fleet to ensure continuous 24x7 material flow operations
Perform first-level troubleshooting on AMR hardware and software, document incidents accurately, and provide operational feedback in Tesla's tracking systems, and quickly resolve operational issues
Identify and escalate complex issues to Process Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, or Software Support teams as needed
Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as sensor cleaning and hardware inspections
Use fleet management systems and dashboards to monitor AMR performance, mission status, and system health
Collaborate with PIV Material Handlers and Production teams to ensure accurate, on-time material delivery while maintaining high safety standards and 5S discipline across all AMR operating zones
Suggest process and system improvements to enhance fleet efficiency, reduce downtime, and streamline operations
Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent experience
Strong technical aptitude with a basic understanding of robotic systems
Experience with AMR, AGV, or other mobile automation systems preferred
Proven ability to troubleshoot and adapt in fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environments
Analytical thinker with a continuous improvement mindset and attention to detail
Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and escalation
Essential Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, arm protection, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
