Senior Mobile Forklift Mechanic – Dallas, TX

OVERVIEW

We're looking for a Senior Mobile Forklift Mechanic to join our growing team in Dallas, TX! This is a great opportunity for an experienced heavy-duty equipment technician who knows their way around forklifts, material handling equipment, and mobile repair work. If you've built a career diagnosing and fixing complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy equipment — and you take pride in doing it right the first time — we want to talk to you.

This is NOT a Forklift Operator position — this is a skilled Forklift/Heavy Equipment Mechanic role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues on forklifts and other heavy-duty mobile equipment

Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs both in-shop and in the field at customer locations

Rebuild or replace major components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps/cylinders, and electrical systems

Use diagnostic software and tools to evaluate equipment performance and pinpoint issues efficiently

Maintain detailed, accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage documentation

Mentor junior technicians and serve as a go-to resource for complex or escalated repairs

Partner with service managers and parts teams to keep repairs on schedule and minimize equipment downtime

Build strong customer relationships through clear communication and reliable, high-quality service

Stay current on OEM updates, new equipment technology, and industry best practices

Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, safety-compliant work environment (shop or mobile service vehicle)

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school certification in diesel, heavy equipment, or industrial mechanics strongly preferred

3+ years of experience as a forklift mechanic or heavy-duty/mobile equipment mechanic required (construction equipment, ag equipment, diesel trucks, or similar industrial machinery experience also considered)

Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and engine systems (diesel/propane/electric powertrains a plus)

Experience with major forklift brands (Toyota, Hyster, Yale, Crown, Komatsu, etc.) a plus

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics

Own a basic set of hand tools (employer provides specialty/diagnostic tools)

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record — this is a mobile/field-based position requiring travel to customer sites within the Dallas market

Strong problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail

Self-motivated and able to work independently in the field, as well as collaboratively with the shop team

Commitment to safety and strict adherence to all safety protocols

BENEFITS

We offer a full benefits package, including:

Medical / Dental / Vision / Life Insurance
