Mobile Service Business Consultant & Performance Coach

Territory: Assigned Region

Position Summary

Are you a high-energy leader who thrives on driving change, developing people, and growing a business?

We're looking for a Mobile Service Business Consultant & Performance Coach to help dealerships successfully launch, grow, and optimize their Mobile Service operations. This is far more than a traditional automotive position—you'll serve as a trusted business consultant, sales coach, trainer, and change agent, partnering with dealership leadership to build profitable Mobile Service programs while providing hands-on technical coaching in the field.

Success in this role requires someone who is equally comfortable presenting to dealership owners, coaching service managers, analyzing business performance, and demonstrating service procedures inside a Mobile Service Van.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Consulting

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Mobile Service implementation, operations, sales strategy, and workflow optimization.
  • Consult with Dealer Principals, General Managers, and Service Managers to develop profitable Mobile Service operations.
  • Help dealerships create and execute go-to-market strategies for Mobile Service.
  • Coach leadership teams on revenue growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote adoption of Mobile Service by overcoming objections and demonstrating business value.

Performance Improvement & Change Management

  • Evaluate dealership operations and identify opportunities to improve workflow and performance.
  • Analyze dealership KPIs and provide actionable recommendations to achieve business objectives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop improvement plans that deliver measurable ROI.
  • Support dealerships in implementing new processes and best practices.
  • Ensure dealerships maintain effective Mobile Service parts inventory strategies.

Training & Development

  • Deliver both technical and non-technical training at dealerships, regional events, and virtually.
  • Support new Mobile Service vehicle launches and onboarding activities.
  • Train technicians on:
  • Vehicle lifting procedures
  • Oil extraction and oil change procedures
  • Vehicle inspection processes
  • Mobile Service tools and equipment
  • Coach Mobile Service Coordinators and Advisors on customer engagement, inspection-based selling, and service sales techniques.
  • Deliver customer service and consultative sales training that improves customer satisfaction and increases Mobile Service revenue.

Program Support

  • Assist dealerships with recruiting and retaining Mobile Service Technicians and Coordinators.
  • Monitor dealership performance and provide ongoing coaching and operational support.
  • Build strong relationships with dealership leadership and field teams while serving as a trusted advisor.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of customer-facing experience within the automotive industry
  • Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation abilities
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of automotive industry experience
  • Experience in dealership or aftermarket service operations
  • Experience delivering technical and sales training
  • Experience leading business improvement initiatives
  • Proven success implementing new programs across multiple locations

Technical Knowledge

  • Automotive service tools and equipment
  • Mobile Service operations and workflow
  • Automotive repair procedures
  • Automotive service sales processes
  • Parts operations and inventory management
  • Performance metrics and KPI analysis
  • Training development and facilitation

Physical Requirements

This is an active field-based position requiring regular hands-on demonstrations and technician training. Candidates must be able to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods
  • Work underneath vehicles and within engine compartments
  • Frequently lift and move tools, equipment, and parts weighing 10–50 pounds
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Travel extensively by both vehicle and commercial airline

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a confident communicator and coach who enjoys helping others succeed. They possess the business acumen to influence dealership leadership, the technical credibility to train technicians, and the energy to drive organizational change. This individual thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and is passionate about improving both customer experience and dealership profitability.
