Working Hours and/or Working Conditions

Ability to lift and move simulation equipment as needed. Comfortable working in varied environments and weather conditions. Flexible schedule to accommodate training events, including evenings and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proven ability to operate large vehicles safely and efficiently. Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting vehicle and equipment issues. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Function

The Mobile Simulation Unit Driver is responsible for safely operating and maintaining the Mobile Simulation Unit (MSU) to support healthcare training programs. This role ensures timely transportation, proper setup, and operational readiness of the unit and its equipment for scheduled simulation training sessions. This position is scheduled based on the needs of the department and may include evening and weekend hours.

Job Responsibilities

• Driving & Transportation: Safely operate and transport the Mobile Simulation Unit to designated training locations. Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Setup & Preparation: Prepare the MSU for the day's training, including positioning and stabilizing the vehicle. Assist with the setup of simulation equipment and training environment.
• Equipment & Vehicle Checks: Perform daily well-checks of all removable and stationary simulation equipment. Inspect and maintain mechanical operations of the vehicle, including generator, HVAC, and other onboard systems. Report and document any issues or malfunctions promptly.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols for equipment handling and vehicle operation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the MSU interior and exterior.

Qualifications

Licensing & Certifications (Either/Or):

• Valid Chauffeur license with at least 12 months of possession and driving experience

Or

• Successful completion of Firefighter emergency vehicle operating training
