What you’ll do

• Welcome customers with empathy and courtesy; respond quickly to their needs.
• Evaluate items to decide if parts are needed and whether repair can return pieces to good stock.
• Restore case goods (wood/manufactured materials) and upholstery—including leather—to like-new condition within set timeframes.
• Remove stains and soils from furniture and mattresses.
• Use hand and power tools safely, with emphasis on drills, impact drivers, and multi-tools.
• Participate in bench testing evaluations for regular skills validation.
• Share knowledge and help other technicians grow.
• Follow SOPs for documentation and activity recording.
• Stick to planned routes to ensure on-time arrival for customer repairs.
• Alert the Customer Response Team about incomplete or problematic service calls.
• Carry out weekly vehicle maintenance and keep logs up to date.
• Keep your service vehicle clean, organized, and stocked with required materials and supplies.
• Follow company driving policy and meet annual MVR review requirements.
• Assist shop technicians with repairs as needed when required and available.

What you bring

• High School Diploma.
• 1+ year of practical furniture repair (upholstery, leather, wood refinishing) OR similar material-repair experience with color matching.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English; additional languages are beneficial.
• Self-motivated with excellent time management.
• Willing to learn in-house computer systems.
• Valid Driver’s License and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record per company guidelines.

Physical requirements

• Visual acuity: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth; ability to adjust focus for reports/screens.
• Hear and understand speech; speak clearly to be understood.
• Extended sitting; frequent repetitive hand tasks (keyboarding, handwriting, office/POS, handheld equipment).
• Stand and walk; bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch; reach at/above shoulder height.
• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs., and more with assistance.
• Primarily work in private homes or retail settings; occasional warehouse work.
• Potential exposure to oil, latex, spray paint, household chemicals, biological odors, household dusts; moderate office noise.
