Immediate opening

Our client is a proud provider of telecommunications, media, and technology services. They create a connection to what people need to thrive in their everyday lives.

For their technical openings, the client is seeking candidates who thrive in a collaborative environment and take initiative to resolve outstanding issues and improve existing processes. They’re seeking those who strive to stay up to date with the latest best practices and tools by researching and participating in communities and technical conferences. Most of all, they seek those ready to make a difference!

FNS SYSTEMS has an immediate opening for an experienced Mobile Wireless Test Automation Engineer for Connected Services to join a team serving one of the country’s largest cellular operators.

The successful candidate will join FNS SYSTEMS’s existing, high-performance team engaged in the development, testing, and support of a proprietary automated network testing platform for a US Tier 1 cellular network operator. The team collaborates with the automation tool architects and developers, testing equipment OEMs, and our client’s internal platform/ service owners to identify and implement automation to increase the efficiency and accuracy of network testing and traffic classification of connected services. This team is supporting automation for both legacy and new/emerging networks/services, including 5G and FirstNet. This requires personnel with excellent communication skills, expert knowledge in troubleshooting telecom networks and services, and a hunger to learn more about new technologies.

 Responsibilities:

  • Execute and document manual and automated test cases for in-vehicle infotainment and connectivity services (vehicle mobile hotspot for passenger devices, satellite radio, audio/video streaming, navigation data, OTA telemetry) to verify traffic classification and QoS.
  • Develop and maintain test scripts and lightweight automation for connected‑car features (Python, pytest, Robot Framework); run regression suites under direction from senior engineers.
  • Automate end-to-end tests for in-vehicle connectivity (cellular/Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth behavior, reconnection, roaming) and validate service-level behavior while passenger devices access the vehicle hotspot.
  • Capture and analyze network traffic (tcpdump/tshark, PCAPs) and DPI outputs to confirm service identification, flow tagging, and basic performance metrics (throughput, latency, packet loss).
  • Execute predefined network impairment scenarios (bandwidth throttling, latency, packet loss via NetEm or cellular emulator) and record results per test plans; report reproducible defects with logs/pcaps.
  • Integrate automated tests into existing CI pipelines and upload telemetry/logs to shared dashboards (ELK/Prometheus/Grafana) as directed; assist in generating data-backed defect reports.

 Education & Experience:

· 3 years of 5G call flow and network knowledge
 · Experience with Automation tools is highly preferred.
 · 4G/5G call flow experience.
 · Troubleshooting experience.
 · Familiar with network virtualization, such as SR-IOV, DPDK
 · Familiar with Basic Linux Operations
 · Familiar with Web applications, software architecture, and software design.
 · Experience working in an Agile environment preferred.
 · Jira/QC Experience preferred.
