One (1), Full-Time, K-2 Moderate Cognitive Impairment (MoCI) Teacher (2026-27 School Year)
Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal and the Director of Special Education, the K-2 Moderate Cognitive Impairment Teacher provides specialized instruction designed to meet the unique academic, developmental, behavioral, communication, social-emotional, and functional needs of students with moderate cognitive impairments. The teacher works to maximize each student's growth and independence by implementing district-approved curriculum, individualized instructional strategies, communication supports, behavior interventions, and activities of daily living instruction within a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
This classroom is supported by a collaborative multidisciplinary team, including a special education paraprofessional, behavior technician, speech and language services, and social work support, to help meet the individualized needs of students and provide comprehensive support within the learning environment.
