OverviewLMI is seeking a Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) with deep expertise in SysML to support the development and representation of future space architectures, with a focus on sustained space maneuver and resilient orbital operations.In this role, you will lead the creation of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) artifacts in SysML that translate conceptual architectures and analytical results into structured, interoperable system models. These models will support early‑phase force design, architecture evaluation, and integration with external tools and analytical environments.This position is ideal for a systems engineer who can operate in ambiguous, concept‑driven environments, and who excels at turning evolving ideas into coherent, defensible system models that inform decision‑making.This is an on‑site role in Colorado Springs, CO and requires an active TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility clearance and a willingness to obtain a CI Poly.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain MBSE artifacts using SysML to represent candidate space architecturesTranslate conceptual system designs, trade study outputs, and mission scenarios into structured system modelsCreate and manage core SysML artifacts, including:Block Definition Diagrams (BDDs)Internal Block Diagrams (IBDs)Activity and sequence diagramsRequirements diagrams with traceabilityEnsure models are structured to interface with external systems, analytical tools, and data environments, enabling integration across the broader analysis ecosystemCollaborate with trade space analysts, data scientists, and modeling & simulation teams to ensure alignment between analytical outputs and system representationsSupport development of system architectures, interfaces, and requirements for notional and emerging space capabilitiesApply architecture frameworks (e.g., DoDAF, UAF) to ensure models are aligned with stakeholder expectationsMaintain model integrity, consistency, and version control as architectures evolveContribute to technical reports, briefings, and stakeholder engagements by translating model outputs into clear, decision‑relevant insightsProvide guidance on MBSE best practices and mentor team members on model‑based approachesQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field5+ years of experience in Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)Demonstrated expertise in developing models using SysMLHands‑on experience with MBSE tools such as:Cameo Systems ModelerStrong understanding of systems engineering principles, including:Requirements decomposition and traceabilityFunctional and logical architecture developmentInterface definition and system integrationExperience developing models that interface with external tools, data sources, or analytical environmentsAbility to translate ambiguous or evolving concepts into structured system modelsStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting early‑phase concept development, architecture definition, or pre‑acquisition analysisFamiliarity with architecture frameworks such as DoDAF or UAFExperience integrating MBSE models with:Modeling & simulation toolsData analytics pipelinesExternal interfaces or APIsBackground in space systems, including satellite architectures, ground systems, or mission analysisExperience with digital engineering environments or model integration across platformsAdvanced degree in Systems Engineering or a related fieldSecurity Clearance RequirementsCandidate must possess an active TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility clearance and a willingness to obtain a CI Poly.Target Salary Range$125,000 - $211,000#J-18808-Ljbffr
