THIS POSITION IS FOR STRATEGIC TECHNOLOGY CONSULTING- STC, An Arcfield Company

Strategic Technology Consulting (STC), an Arcfield Company, is seeking an experienced Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support complex national security and space systems engineering initiatives. This role requires applying advanced digital engineering tools, MBSE methodologies, and systems engineering practices to support transformative space-based sensing systems.

The selected candidate will work closely with government leadership, acquisition stakeholders, mission engineers, systems engineers, and cross-functional technical teams to develop digital models, system architectures, trade-space analyses, technical documentation, and acquisition-focused engineering products that support portfolio-level decision making. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to mission-critical space-based sensing, targeting, and collection architectures using modern digital engineering approaches.

Responsibilities:

  • Model-Based Systems Engineering: Apply MBSE methodologies across the lifecycle of complex space systems, including concept development, integration, verification, validation, transition, and technical maturation.
  • Digital Model Development: Create digital models that support acquisition lifecycle activities, including concept definition, pre-acquisition planning, technology maturation, trade-space analysis, and technical decision support.
  • Space Systems Engineering: Support the design and evaluation of resilient system-of-systems architectures across space, ground, communications, and multi-domain mission segments.
  • Trade Studies and Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies, technical gap analyses, trade-off analyses, Analysis of Alternatives, and predictive simulations to evaluate collection architectures, mission performance, technical risk, and capability alignment.
  • Engineering and Acquisition Support: Translate high-level operational needs and mission requirements into technical acquisition strategies, design-level solutions, technical performance metrics, and portfolio-level engineering recommendations.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with government leadership, acquisition teams, mission partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure engineering products align with acquisition, operational, and technical objectives.
Qualifications:
  • BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5 in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant hands-on systems engineering, MBSE, or digital engineering experience supporting complex government, defense, national security, or space-based systems.
  • Experience applying MBSE methodologies across the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements definition, CONOPS development, architecture development, integration, verification, validation, and technical review processes.
  • Proficiency with MBSE frameworks, modeling languages, and tools such as SysML, UAF, Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of system-of-systems architecture development for space, ground, communications, sensing, targeting, or multi-domain mission solutions.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense acquisition processes, portfolio acquisition execution, technical performance metrics, procurement strategies, or government acquisition documentation is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively with government stakeholders, technical teams, and cross-functional partners.
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
